Greetings all, There is an event at the Mariner's Museum this weekend which has reserved the field we normally use for practice. After conferring with Lord Moe, it has been decided to move to the alternate practice site on the other side of the park. For those unaware of the location you will enter the Mariner's Museum and follow the road around past the Peninsula Fine Arts Center. Once you enter the park proper you will enter the first parking area on the left. We will do our best to be visible. Please pass this on if you know of someone who is not on this list. In service, Baron Jean Claude

Saint Luke's Artisan's Fair October 25, AS 43 (2008)
In the tradition of the Guilds of St Luke, a wide-ranging guild composed of artists, house painters and decorators, glass engravers, stained-glass workers, glaziers, potters, embroiderers, carpet weavers, sculptors, engravers, booksellers, printers and art dealers, which began in the Low Countries in the 14th Century, The Barony of Tir-y-Don is pleased to announce the St Luke's Artisans' Fair to be held on October 25th, AS 43.
The Purpose of the Fair is to show each other our skills and craft, to exhibit and demonstrate, and to discuss our passions with like minded artisans. There will be no formal judging. Artisans can reserve a table or a half-table worth of space. Bring your works, finished and in-progress, and set up a display and/or workspace (limited facilities for water and/or electricity). Also, all attendees are urged to bring tokens to give to any artisans whose work impresses them. This Fair is half-way to Kingdom A&S, and will be an excellent time to get feedback on projects that you may wish to complete and enter in that prestigious competition.
In addition to the Artisans' Fair, there will be a Laurel Challenge Tournament. All Laurels are welcome to submit a challenge to the artisans of the Kingdom, all of which will be posted to http://st-lukes.gallowglass.org/ for the perusal of those who seek to take up the challenges. Judging in these competitions will be strictly by the Laurel who issues the challenge, and will be a great opportunity for increasing knowledge and experience in these particular arts.
There is no feast planned, but an extensive dayboard is included in the price of the event. Do not plan to leave hungry.
Those who wish to practice the arts of war are welcome to attend the Inter-Baronial Fight Practice on Sunday. Heavy Weapons, Rapier, and Archery are all available for your entertainment.
Questions about the event may be directed to the staff at st_lukes_art@yahoo.com. We have nine challenges so far. The earlier you sign up for a challenge, the more time you get to work on your project. Only 190 days until the event!

Greetings from your Birthday Autocrat! We're about to kick into high gear with preparations for our Birthday celebration on May 10.
Next week, at the April Business meeting I will be looking for volunteers to help throughout that day. Sign up sheets will be sent around. Lady Avelyn will be taking registrations. Lady Anne is cooking feast.
The website www.goingmedieval.com/tirydonbb2008 is up and running. Feel free to check it periodically for important updates.
This time we are raffling a gift basket full of goodies for those that pre-register. You must have your registration in by April 27 to be entered. One entry per family. I promise it's worthy!
We are the most northern Atlantia event for this weekend so I'm hoping for a great turn-out! Stay turned for more.
In service to the dream, Mariana

Those of you who came out last year know that this is a wonderful school, and we had a lot of fun. If you have never done a school demo before, this would be a treat. We can use all the hands we can get, and everyone is welcome. However if you would like to fight, you MUST be authorized.
If you are able to volunteer, or would like more information, or have an idea for a demo, please feel free to contact me.

Good Evening,
Well I just returned from a wonderful A&S and a new schedule has been planned for class going all the way through August! I think everyone is going to enjoy the wide variety of classes and topics. But don't forget, if you have a topic to teach or would like somethng taught, please don't hesitate to send me a note. I look forward to a wonderful spring and summer of Arts and Sciences in the Barony.
Please note that I have removed the Armory and the Scriptorium from the website.
Thanks,

Posting on behalf of the Autocrat:
Greetings, and good morning on this chilly Friday. IB12 is just over a week away. Are you submitting a letter of intent to compete for the honor of being Their Excellencies' next Baronial Artisan? Have you made a mask to enter in the A&S competition or wear for the dance? Are you brewing a beer, wine or cordial for the discussion, or planning to bring your favorite purchased beverage to share and critically discuss? Are you just looking forward to seeing all the displays, enjoying the music and good food, and spending time with friends? As you surely know, feast is sold out at this point. There is a waiting list established - if you've pre-registered and want to be on the wait list, please contact the reservationist (Megan Poppe/Avelyn of Kennington, cs_foxglove@yahoo.com). Or, if you want a chance to sample the wonderful feast without worrying about the wait list, contact Lady Alana (victoria.a.howell@gmail.com) and volunteer to serve! Still trying to match up everyone's names with their faces? Volunteer at troll, and you'll soon know who's who. (Contact Megan Poppe/Avelyn of Kennington, as above.) Prefer to deal with tables & chairs, instead of people and numbers? Well, you're in luck - we'll be rearranging the hall furnishings several times during the day, and that's sure to need volunteers. Just listen for Cindel's voice during the day - she's the chief furniture wrangler. If you're one of the wonderful people who arrives early to set up (site opens at 8) I will provide hot beverages and various carbohydrates. Bring your own mug! For far more details, visit the website: http://www.goingmedieval.com/IB12 (case-sensitive). If you have any questions at all, feel free to contact me at r3simmons@gmail.com or 757-247-0174 (NLT 9 pm please). The phone has been wonky whenever it rains but I still can access voicemail. In service (not yet in a panic-) Rebecca/Rebekah |

As you may have noticed, there are currently issues with the servers hosting Campfire. Auric has been working all day in attempts to rebuild the servers and get us back on line. I understand that this may cause some inconvenience, but he is working diligently to get us back up and running.
Auric will let us know when the servers are back on line.
As always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
